Couch to 5k Squad Member Interview: Running Alone with a Coach on your Shoulder

We're now helping more people who cannot attend club runs than ever before. Watch this video to learn why Helene prefers to run alone and how she's made it to week 7 of our Couch to 5k Programme.

Helene does not consider herself a sporty person and even confesses that she's not really accepted that she's running regularly but she's made it to week 7 of our Couch to 5k Programme having only attended 2 club runs.

She likes the option to run when and where it suits her but emphasises the importance of having a coach, programme and member support via the Couch to 5k Squad Facebook group.

Tech Phobic Friendly

Helene is not great with technology and never thought she'd use it to help with her runs but having downloaded, set up and used the RunKeeper App she knows why it's so useful.

The easy to follow videos, sharing features, settings have all made the process of getting set up far easier than expected and Helene is often the first to post stats from her first run of the new week.

Post 5k

Like many of our Couch to 5k Squad members, yet to run their first non-stop 5k, Helene finds it hard to think past the 10 week programme. On hearing about our Online 10k Squads she can see how a 10k event could become realistic with further guidance.
