Running for Weight Loss – A Beginner’s Story: Peter Baylis

If you’ve ever tried to lose weight and keep it off then you know what a challenge it can be.

In this clip from our Beginner’s Running Workshop, Peter tells his story of running the Great North Run twice and the lessons he learned between then and joining Cheltenham Running Club’s Couch to 5k Programme. With our structured programme Peter was able to loose 2 stone between joining our beginners group in January and talking with us in April. Watch below his thoughts on his running journey and how it’s helped him keep weight off.

“If you have had little or no experience of running or you have had previous bad experiences in terms of injury and poor performance through bad technique I can thoroughly recommend Conor’s coaching at the Cheltenham Running Club.
As beginners particularly we often ‘don’t know what we don’t know’ and Conor puts all of those things that we need to know in terms of fitness, running technique and injury avoidance into perspective to help us to reach our goals and, maybe, more importantly, to enjoy ourselves in the process. If you are a new to running or someone who has had a long lay off and would like to start again I can thoroughly recommend Conor and the CRC.” – Peter Baylis
