“Enjoying Running and Progressing Fast!”
Enjoying running much more than expected and really surprised how quickly I have been able to run longer distances over 5k. Looking forward to getting up to 10k.
“Transforming Belief and Ability”
I have gone from being not able to run to the end of my road & thinking running is not for me, to believing in myself thanks to Conor & the fabulous members of the CRC...
“You can Transform into a Runner!”
Very friendly. You don’t need to be a runner to join , as with the support of the coach and your running friends, you can be transformed into a runner. Want to walk instead? No problem join the walking group. Age isn’t a barrier either. I joined when I was well into my 60’s. Conor designs a personal training plan for you. He’s always contactable for advice .
“A Social Couch to 5k Programme with Loads of Guidance”
I am currently doing the couch to 5k, I love the social side of it, having others to motivate me and also getting all the Information every week about any problems I have, and what the week plan is.
“Trepidation Be Gone”
I started with some trepidation as a couch potato in Jan 2017 and by the end of March I had done my first Park Run (5km).
I continued running throughout 2017 as a stress buster and the club coach, Conor Graham, helped me with my technique and stamina.
Now at the beginning of 2018 I am working towards my first Half Marathon. Completely unbelievable and I would have given up a long time ago without Cheltenham Running Club.
“One of the best decisions I've made after struggling with anxiety and depression”
Joining the group was one of the best decisions I've made after struggling with anxiety and depression over the last couple years.
I've been so lucky through the walking group to meet people who I now regard as some of my closest friends who I couldn't be without. It's great to get out and meet new people. It's one thing I really look forward to every week after work!
I'm no longer ashamed or embarrassed about my red face after exercise which was a major stumbling block for me when exercising with others!
“I never thought I would say that running can be fun, but it really can be”
I joined CRC as a wannabe runner on the Couch to 5k squad. Being part of a running community has been a massive support to me. I go out with other runners of a similar ability and we develop together, encouraging, motivating and supporting each other.
We're quite a sociable bunch!
It's made the difference between me looking for excuses to not go out for a run and actually looking forward to it. Conor (Head Coach at CRC) is good at helping to keep us all moving forward and working on injury prevention, recovery and training.
I never thought I would say that running can be fun, but it really can be, Go ahead join us.
“All club runs have been great, even that first club run”
Fantastic running club. All club runs have been great, even that first one, when I arrived I realised how supportive and friendly it was. Looking forward to another year of club runs, excellent coaching and future club social events!
“Quote from a Founding Member”
I have run with CRC since day one. The attention given to the needs of runners of all abilities is spot on. Concerned not just with running but also looking after the body, be it stretching, warming up, or injury prevention - to mention a few. Conor is welcoming to everybody and encourages a team spirit and friendly club. Many friendships have been formed with runners from couch to marathon and beyond.
“So glad I joined”
Following a move to Cheltenham 18 months ago, I wanted to make new friendships, get fitter and explore the local area.
The walking club ticks all these boxes, everyone is so friendly, I’m feeling fitter and I’ve found some new and interesting places to walk and talk!
So glad I joined. Jean
